Coach Steve,
After attending your SCE camps and clinics, we have always seen improvement in my son’s skills. In addition to that, your approach always has the effect of building his confidence and self-esteem. Ever consider the prospect of running a clinic for coaches ?

Approximately two years ago a family friend recommended SCE Hockey after our son Ryan was injured. He had sustained a concussion and had been sidelined for nearly 6 weeks. We wanted to ensure that he was fit and strong before returning to play, so after being cleared medically Ryan began skating with Coach Steve. Steve was excellent with Ryan allowing him to progress at a pace that was slow enough to facilitate his recovery, yet challenging enough to improve his fitness and skill level.
Ryan returned to hockey without incident after being off for approximately 10 weeks.
He continues to train with Steve, and has gone from a marginal "A" player to playing up with the "AAA" team.
Every aspect of Ryan's game has improved thanks to Steve's positive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable coaching.
Thanks Steve _ we would highly recommend SCE Hockey to anyone.

I presently have twin boys playing hockey. They started out in South
Florida and recently moved to the Philadelphia area to play for the
Little Flyers where the competition was much more advanced. The one
thing that I noticed and I was very impressed with was the coaching.
Specifically Steve Emmett from SCE Hockey.
My sons have played for, attended clinics and have taken lessons from many
coaches from Florida to Canada and the one that has stood out with not
only me but more importantly my sons is Steve.
His approach has been both knowledgeable and professional and extremely
passionate about the sport as well as the development of my children.
Sometimes we can forget with all the "hard work " needed to advance in
this sport that it to should be fun at a sport that they love. Steve
combined the perfect amount of discipline and hard work with a certain
amount of accomplishment and enjoyment.
I intend to have my boys continue to work with Steve through the year as well as in
the summer working on their skills and development.
I would recommend Steve to anyone who is looking for the consummate
professional to teach, guide and instruct them in the sport we all enjoy
so much

Coach Steve,
SCE Hockey camps and clinics have been great in helping my son's skills and confidence. Steve and his staff have a great way of giving each player attention and respect along with their great teaching skills, and the players respond very well to this approach. They have the kids working very hard, but the players really enjoy their camp experience. My son has attended many camps and clinics in his 10 years of playing hockey, and SCE Hockey has been his best experience by far.
Thanks, Coach Steve and staff.

Two years ago my son Eric had just learned to skate & started playing hockey at the Galt Minor Hockey School.
Because Eric had started later than his peers we decided to try some hockey camps but became disappointed with the ratio of Instructors to students.
Through a friend we came to SCE where the ratio of Instruction is five students to one coach maximum. Eric quite enjoyed these camps as they were both challenging and fun.
This training/conditioning program from my perspective is without a doubt the best around.
Steve coaches through positive reinforcement and repetitive drills until mastered, then it's on to another skill set of Instructions - be it skating, shooting, stick handling, etc. It isn't just the same drill over and over. Steve garners respect not from yelling, but rather from positive reinforcement given to the kids.
My son, in two short years with SCE, has gone from playing House League to Minor Atom AAA for the Cambridge Hawks at the age of 8 and just completed a very successful Spring season with the Regional Express Elite AAA program at the Wayne Gretzky Centre in Brantford.
From both Eric and myself,
Thanks
Coach Steve

Coach Steve,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for all the work you have done with my son Keidon. Not only have his skills and confidence dramatically improved under your instruction but you have a huge impact with Keidon in reinforcing his love for the game.
Your knowledge of the game and how to develop players is very evident in the well thought out drills that you have developed. Keidon very much enjoys and looks forward to attending all your camps.
It is very clear by the way you work with the kids that you not only care about their hockey skills but about the kids as individuals as well.
In the words of Keidon " Coach Steve Rocks "
Thanks Steve

I am very pleased to say that you have indeed made a big impression with my son Brian.
He started skating 2 years ago & now after just a short time spent with you he has gained confidence and moved forward to Travel hockey.
It is very evident the passion you carry on the ice teaching the players.
You break down their weaknesses then correct & reinforce them to gain confidence to move them forward.
The players really reflect to how you teach them in a professional manner
Very disciplined & constructive.
We wish we lived in Canada!
Thanks;
Coach Steve

Coach Steve,
As a coach & parent involved in Tier One hockey here in the USA, I can honestly say that you have grabbed my attention after the great weekend in Michigan for the Challenge Cup involving the best 95 players in Canada against our best 95 players here in the USA.
It was very evident the passion you have for the game. The kids respect you & play at
what ever the game situation calls for. Like you said Skating is # One & it was very clear that your team outskated us & took the Gold Medal.
I would like my son Ryan to attend whatever Clinics, Camps you run.
I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with you & learned allot from our conversation.
Ryan would like to visit Canada to compete with your Canadian players.
Look forward to getting on the ice with you Coach Steve!

"Being a professional hockey player in the AHL & with the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL
for the past four seasons, I want to pass along my appreciation to Mr. Steve Emmett for
all his advice and contribution to our team this past year. I can honestly say that Steve
is a dynamic and passionate coach that strives for perfection both on and off the ice.
With more than 30 years of experience in the world of hockey, Steve is one of the most
advanced individual skills instructor I have seen. I am looking forward to working

The 2007-2008 Johnstown Chiefs Training Camp was not an easy one for the players to say the least. Even for guys coming from AHL camps this one was long but well organized and we got in shape. This was the first year for the head coach (Ian Herbers) with no assistant, and wasn't familiar with allot of the players, so he had his hands full. With the help from Steve things ran allot smoother. Whether it was on ice or off ice, Steve played a role. As this was my first year there I wasn't familiar with the staff and i thought he was the assistant coach. That just goes to say Steve is a very personable guy that gel's well with the players. Having talked with Steve at camp I could tell he knows his hockey and has a great passion for the game. The camp was probably 5-6 days long and after that time I'm sure all the guys didn't want Steve to leave. After the camp we decided to keep in touch, we have, and are now friends. Hope to see you at this years camp!
Thanks Steve

Wow, how time flys. Another successful SCE Summer Hockey Camp has come and gone at Powerplay Rinks in Exton. Just over two short years ago, your journey at Powerplay Rinks began and what a success it has been. Consistently attracting new faces and retaining many satisfied customers all leading to increasing numbers in your camps. The feedback I receive is always positive. Running 4 camps / clinics here each year and being on the verge of numbers that support multiple sessions for varying player development levels is truly a testament to what you have built here. I am very much excited about your continued success locally.
I also want to take a moment to thank you for how you have assisted my boys and also me as both a coach and parent. You have helped my boys not only with their skill development but also with their level of confidence and how they play the game. My boys' passion and love for the game has increased over the past two years. They both have never been more excited to play, watch or talk about the game of hockey. For me, whether it has been a situation with a team, parents, an organization or specific coaching skills or drills, you have always provided me with great advice. I have a much different perspective today than I did two years ago. I thank you, my wife thanks you and my boys (especially my boys) thank you for that.
Your enthusiasm and love for the game of hockey is contagious. You have a unique ability as a coach that I so rarely see. You connect with the kids. You respect them and they respect you. You define your expectations of them (focus, discipline, hard work, etc.) and they know where they stand. You know when to push and when to pull back to get the most from them in a given situation. You instruct constructively and do not demean the kids. You understand the fragile nature of the child's ego and how important it is to keep confidence levels high for success. Rebuilding confidence in the game of hockey is tedious and time consuming. You get that. The kids learn hockey and they also learn things through hockey that extend to the rest of their lives.
I guess the best way to sum it up - Steve Emmett, a complete coach, on and off the ice.
Best Regards.
